• User experience design is invisible.

It feels natural, predictable and responsive to the user. User experience understands the user enough to anticipate their questions, and provide answers at the right time to empower them to make decisions they can feel confident about.

  • I design user experience design for e-commerce merchants. I work with clients independently as well as in teams on collaborative agency projects. I can assist with full-fledged research and design website projects, website launches and smaller, targeted ux projects geared at boosting key user flows.

  • The best kept secret user experience design is that it’s not as creative as it is, a scientific method. User research creates data that leads the design effort.

I come into each project with discovery questions and solid research and testing methods. Again, it’s that data that informs and guides the UX blueprint and design solutions for your website.

UX VISION

Good design is beautiful. Exceptional design is invisible AND predictable.

Think of the everyday practice of driving. Take a moment and think about the lanes painted on the roads, the traffic lights, stop and street signs. If you know where you are, you may not even notice these signs and markings (invisible), but think about how important they are. The signs and street markings are “design features” which give us comfort (predictability) by letting us know where we are, where we are going and how to get there. Imagine if a stop sign was missing; imagine there were no lanes on the highway, or signs to let us know what the next exit was. How would we know where we were? How would we know where we’re going? How would we know how to get there?

The goal of UX design to provide users with an interface that easily allows them to reach their goals while maximizing the business goals of the product owner. We achieve invisible, predictable design with user research, and constant testing and validation of iterated design solutions. UX designers conduct user research which dictates the design solutions to deliver happier customers while meeting business objectives of the product owner. While you never know where the research data will lead you, UX research may provide solutions that range from a costly site redesign to lower cost solutions as simple as removing one button from the interface.

Whether you need assistance with UX research and design for an existing website or app, or you’re looking to build an entirely new concept, I can assist with you with your project.
